Sheree C. Thorne, Meditation Instructor with the Willpower Institute,
is both deeply honored and humbled to speak on behalf of the Willpower
Institute.
On behalf of the Canadian participants she expresses deepest gratitude
and thanks to attend this very auspicious celebration in Thailand
with their Master Teacher of Meditation and to have the opportunity
to attend this very important function at the United Nations. She
acknowledges that the annual international conference is extremely
important because it is imperative that more and more people become
aware of the abuse, conflict and injustices that are ongoing in countries
across the world. Equally important she shares, is the need for world
wide awareness that there are people, including the delegates attending
this conference, that are devoted to finding solutions and promoting
peace in the world.
Canada, too, is experiencing an increase in stress and conflict, factors,
which are very detrimental to the individual, family, society and
country. At one time we had never heard the terms road rage, school
rage, work rage, even restaurant rage. Now such realities exist. Strategies
for attaining peace are vital-strategies that enable the every day
person to be able to contribute to peace. Many people believe that
as individuals they are powerless against the forces of conflict and
therefore they do not take action. But individuals can make a difference.
Awareness is the first step; strategizing and action are the next.
A strategy for peace does exist. A strategy that each and every person
in the world can support. That strategy is meditation. Meditation
effectively reduces stress and strain, promotes good decision- making,
fosters harmonious relations and ultimately offers a path to peace
for the individual, family and the world. Sheree expresses deepest
gratitude that Master Teacher of Meditation, Phra Tep Jetiyajan, has
so generously and kindly established meditation centers across Canada,
enabling Canadians the opportunity to correctly learn the theory and
practice of meditation. Graduate students express many benefits gained
from receiving his teachings and are thankful to be able to contribute
to world peace through their consistent practice of meditation.
Luangphor's vision is to promote peace in the world through the consistent
practice of meditation. He hopes that the people of the world will
learn to meditate as a way to attain world peace. Luangphor is devoted
to providing the support required to bring his vision into reality. |
